CDOT announces the nominees for the Sidewalk Snow and Ice Clearance Campaign
Chicago, IL – May 2011

The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), the Mayor’s Pedestrian Advisory Council (MPAC), and the Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (DBACP) announce the businesses and organizations nominated awards from the Sidewalk Snow and Ice Clearance Campaign. These locations were nominated by members of the community through a CDOT website and phone line. Nominees will receive a certificate of excellence and award letter.

We are all pedestrians at some point in the day. Snow and ice can make safe travel particularly difficult for children, seniors, and people with disabilities. Keeping the sidewalks clear of snow and ice allows all Chicagoans to travel safely throughout the city.

CDOT, MPAC, and DBACP congratulate those listed below for their excellence in sidewalk snow and ice removal this winter.

And, special recognition goes to “Janik’s Café,” located at 2011 W Division Street, for receiving the highest number of nominations of any participating location.
