March is "Save Your Vision" Month! The Chicago Lighthouse is here to help!

as shared by our colleagues at The Chicago Lighthouse ...

The Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired
March is "Save Your Vision" Month!

Eye care and early detection of poor vision are always important. Eighty percent of the people with low vision are over age sixty-five, and most of these people developed low vision late in life. The prevalence of low vision in our population is about one in a hundred for people in their sixties and rapidly increases to one in five for people in their nineties.
Across all age groups the incidence of more severe forms of low vision is about 250,000 new cases per year. The Lighthouse is here to help! Spread the word about Save Your Vision Month and about The Chicago Lighthouse.
