Robin is coming all the way from Atlanta, GA to bring her warmth, humor, and knowledge to Chicago!
We will also have a few awesome performances from local artists, such as the fabulous Tekki Lomnicki. You will not want to miss it!
At the IWD event attendees will create a statement about their body by writing with words and/or drawings—on fabric strips. During the break, people can go up to the center piece and tie/connect their strip to other participants’. At the end, this will be a collective art piece!

We are also doing art making workshops which are a collaboration with the Women and Girl Collective at Access Living and Sandie Yi a local Artist & a PhD Student in Disability Studies and Human Development at UIC. The workshops are intended to get community members thinking about their bodies. Participants will have fun while creating something for themselves and for the attendees of the International Women's Day event "Claiming Our Bodies: Recreating our Communities"!
