Recently, changes were made to the Chicago Human Rights Ordinance that will impact people with disabilities seeking to enforce their rights against discrimination. These changes will be the topic of our next meeting on Thursday May 28th from 9:30-11:00 (CT) at Equip for Equality (20 N. Michigan, Suite 300 in Chicago.)
Our speakers will be Joseph Russo, Deputy Commissioner for the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities and Abel Leon, Deputy Commissioner of Adjudications for the Chicago Department of Human Relations.
Please note that this month we are meeting on the 4th Thursday (May 28th) because the 7th Circuit argument in the Murray closure case is scheduled for our usual meeting day on the 4th Wednesday (May 27th).
You can access the meeting via webcast at www.illinoislegaladvocate.org. Just click on “Calendar” and then click on the link for the Consortium meeting.
Our meeting will be eligible for 1.5 hours of Continuing Legal Education credit.
