Girl Scouts Disability Discrimination Lawsuit Against GIRL SCOUTS org. REINSTATED by Federal Court

*statement from Zena Naiditch, president and CEO of Equip for Equality.

I am delighted to share the news that the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that the Girl Scouts is covered by the Federal Rehabilitation Act. The Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability for organizations receiving federal funding.

Equip for Equality, the National Association of the Deaf and the law firm Much Shelist represents Megan Runnion, who is deaf and was denied an interpreter by the Girl Scouts.

With this ruling, we can now move forward with our case to address the discrimination our client faced and the Girl Scouts' discriminatory policy.

Congratulations to Megan and our co-counsel!
