Disability Invitational Hiring Fair

Disability Invitational Hiring FairDOL is hosting an Invitation Only Hiring Event. We are seeking talented individuals for various Department of Labor positions within the District of Columbia and DOL Regions across the United States. To be considered for these positions, applicants must have a Schedule A letter and meet the minimum qualifications for the positions.
The positions will be open June 15th and close on June 19th. Individuals found best qualified for the position(s) will be invited to interview with an agency representative at a location designated by the hiring agency between July 6th and July 10th 2015.

Eligibility Requirements:

Using the Schedule A appointing authority, found at 5 CFR § 213.3102(u), qualified candidates who meet the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) guidelines can be hired non-competitively to an appointment in the excepted service. After successfully completing 2 years, you may be converted to the competitive service.
  • Do you have a permanent, severe physical, psychiatric, or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities? Disabilities may include deafness, blindness, mental retardation, partial or total paralysis, psychiatric disorders, or muscular or neurological disorders.
  • Are you certified by a licensed medical professional, a licensed vocational rehabilitation specialist, or any Federal Agency, State Agency, or Agency of the District of Columbia or U.S. Territory that issues or provides disability benefits?
  • Do you meet the qualification requirements for the position?

What Happens After You Apply

After the application date closes, resumes will be reviewed by agency human resource professionals for qualifications. Only those individuals found best qualified will be asked to interview. Interviews are scheduled to take place at a location determined by the hiring agency during July 6th through July 10th 2015. Hiring Managers are expected to make selections no later than July 17, 2015.
