About Us

The Developmental Disabilities Family Clinics :
University of Illinois at Chicago

About us
The Developmental Disabilities Family Clinics provide comprehensive assessment services for children, adolescents, and adults who have developmental disabilities. The Family Clinics include professionals from family medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, pediatrics, psychiatry, psychology, social work, and speech therapy.

Funding for the Family Clinics is provided by grants from the Illinois Department of Human Services, matching funds from UIC, and third party payments form Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurers. A sliding fee scale is used to determine the amounts of any payments from recipients of services. However, no one is turned away on the basis of inability to pay.

The clinics emphasize the value of the family, resources within the community, and the importance of a multidisciplinary lifespan approach in providing services. The specific programs and activities operated within the Family Clinics are listed below.
