CTA Stroller Policy:  http://www.transitchicago.com/riding_cta/policies.aspx#strollers

Children in strollers

Children in open strollers are welcome on CTA, however we encourage parents to be considerate of other customers and adhere to these rules when traveling with a stroller.
Keep strollers clear of aisles and doorways aboard buses and trains.
Seniors and customers with disabilities have priority use of the Priority Seating area aboard buses and trains. If these seats are not in use, open strollers may be parked in this area. This will help you to avoid blocking the aisle. Please yield this space if a customer with disabilities, a senior, or a person using a mobility device wishes to board. On buses, you may request use of the access ramp or lift to help you board and exit.
Please fold your stroller in the event that a bus or train becomes crowded, in order to make room for others. Be aware that in the event that a bus or train is crowded, a CTA employee may ask you to fold your stroller or wait for another vehicle. Please follow their instructions. Also, during certain periods of high ridership, we may require that all strollers be folded before you board.
Children in an open stroller should be seated and secured in the stroller before boarding the bus or train.
Note that strollers are never allowed on escalators. If traveling with an open stroller in a multi-level facility, please use elevators or ramps where available. On train station platforms, position your stroller parallel to the platform edge (not facing it), use wheel locks/brakes and stay with it at all times.

PRIORITY SEATING IS INTENDED FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES - PERIOD.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DOWNLOAD THE BELOW FLYER, MAKE COPIES, AND SHARE THE INFO - AT COMMUNITY MEETINGS, ORGANIZATIONS, AT CTA BUS STOPS, EL STATIONS, OR ON THE BUS.

Please  speak up at CTA Board of Directors meetings during public comment (must pre-register), for dates of meetings and to register to speak:  http://www.transitchicago.com/about/transit_board_meetings/default.aspx

Please join Ability Chicago in holding CTA to offering PRIORITY SEATING to those it is intended for, bus and train aisles clear of objects like "Carts, Luggage, or Strollers"; and USER FRIENDLY travel for all....

Sincerely,
Jim Watkins

YES YES YES at 67 with health issues I like to ride CTA over paratransit bus. It seems better sometimes with strollers, but thats only if bus driver says something. I am tired and afraid of falling down with strollers blocking the seats. Carry your baby, use a fold up stroller, quit being selfish using your child's stroller as a shopping cart.

this is posted from a email response to the post...TY

While trying to understand why the big big strollers are allowed on CTA, they have the week's shopping, the days supplies, the kitchen sink, and even sometimes a child (and sometimes not). Nothing is worse at the end of the day of having to jump, leap, crawl over strollers blocking the buses. We take the responsibility for our children in our home, and with respect for others, just do not understand people who feel they're entitled to some special service because they have a kid. And for God's sake let seniors and disabled have a seat.

hey Jim,
As I have shared with you, I have been told to wait for the next bus a couple of times because a stroller was using wheelchair area. Plus the times that other PWD or seniors are not able to sit because of stroller in priority seating, and I feel bad then because I am using wheelchair area. CTA needs to do something, some drivers are trying but.
Keep up the good work.
Good Luck, L.T.
