ReelAbilities Film Festival Coming to Chicago September 10-13, 2015!

ReelAbilities Film Festival is the largest film festival in the United States dedicated to sharing the lives, stories and art of people with disabilities. Established in New York City in 2007, ReelAbilities has now spread to 14 cities across the US, each hosting a ReelAbilities Film Festival featuring films that inspire, challenge and unite us while celebrating our shared humanity, is coming to Chicago!

On September 9 – 13, join us at locations around Chicago to see amazing films by and about people with disabilities, along with engaging panel discussions, guest speakers, exhibitions, and performances. All events are FREE to the public. Check out our full schedule of films to RSVP and secure your seats. And to stay up-to-date on what’s going on, like us on Facebook. We look forward to seeing you!

BACKBONES, Chicago’s host organization, provides support for people with spinal cord injury and their families and we have partnered with ADA25 Chicago, a city-wide initiative and public awareness campaign under Chicago Community Trust, which celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The goal is to help the public recognize disability as a natural part of the human experience, and to expand equal opportunity for people with disabilities to participate fully in the civic, social and economic life of our region.
