The U.S. Access Board will hold its next meeting September 10 from 1:30 – 3:00 (ET) at the Board's conference space in downtown Washington, D.C. Meetings of the Access Board are open to the public and webcast live.
The meeting agenda includes reports from Board committees and the Executive Director, as well as updates on agency rulemaking and other activities. In addition, guest speaker William Peterson, head of the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Accessible Systems and Technology, will give a presentation on the standards-based "Trusted Tester" program his agency developed to evaluate web and software applications for accessibility and Section 508 compliance.
A public comment period will be held during the final 15 minutes of the meeting. Those interested in providing comment should send an email to bunales@access-board.gov by September 4 with the subject line "Access Board meeting - Public Comment." Please include your name, organization, state, and topic of comment included in the email. Further instructions will be provided in response to your email.
