Chicago Air & Water Show - Accessibility FAQs

1. How do I get a wristband for accessible seating?
Wristbands will be given out on a first come/call-in, first served basis during festival hours open to the public on the day of the performance to individuals with disabilities who meet certain requirements and their companions (two per individual with a disability).

2. What are the requirements to get a reserved seating wristband?

Accessible Seating: Air & Water Show (North Avenue Beach)

Primary Accessible Seating will be provided for the Air & Water Show at the north end of the North Avenue Beach House viewing stands. There will be no Secondary Accessible Seating for this event. Beach mats will be in place for accessible travel over sand to/from the seating area.

•Individuals who use wheelchairs
•Individuals with disabilities who are ambulatory, but use mobility devises such as walkers or crutches
•Individuals who are ambulatory, but who are unable to stand during the performance
•Individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and need unobstructed sightlines to the sign language interpreter
•Individuals who are blind or have visual impairments that require seating in close proximity to the stage

3. What is the phone number to reserve a wristband?
On the day of the show, beginning at 11:00 am, you may call 312 636 5753 (voice)/711 Relay Service to reserve a wristband.

4. Can my companion pick up my wristband?
Individuals with a disability and their guests must pick up the wristbands in person at the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events Performers Check In Booth. (There will be signs pointing to the location) Companions will not be allowed to pick up wristbands unless accompanied by an individual with a disability. Wristbands are non transferable and only valid for the current day it is issued. Wristbands distributed by DCASE are only valid for their assigned seating areas

5. Is there a waitlist?
If all wristbands are distributed or reserved, a waitlist will be started on a first come/call in, first served basis (fifty guests maximum) at the DCASE booth. There is no guarantee that a wristband will become available.

6. Where is the transportation drop off and pick up located?
For Paratransit and vehicles transporting people with disabilities, the location is the entrance to North Avenue Beach.
