The U.S. Access Board will hold a hearing on March 11 from 9:30 to 11:30 on its proposed rule updating accessibility requirements for information and communication technology (ICT) covered by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and Section 255 of the Communication Act. The event will provide an opportunity for members of the public to comment on the Board's proposal which was released on February 18.
The hearing will be held at the Board's conference space in downtown Washington, D.C., but participants can attend remotely through a dial-in option and real-time captioning. Those who wish to testify in person or by phone are encouraged to sign-up in advance by contacting Kathy Johnson at johnson@access-board.gov, (202) 272–0041 (voice), or (202) 272–0065 (TTY). Registration, however, is not required.
In addition, the Board will review the proposed rule in a free webinar on March 31 from 1:00 – 2:30 (ET). This event will not afford an opportunity for public comment.
