as shared by The ALS Association
We encourage everyone to participate by going to the Advocacy Action Center of our website and sending a letter-to-the-editor of your local papers today and throughout the week leading up to Veterans Day. It takes just a few minutes to send the letter, but it can raise awareness of ALS across the country and build support for our cause.
Simply go the Advocacy Action Center of our website (http://capwiz.com/alsa/home/) , select the link to the letter-to-the-editor, and follow the onscreen instructions. The site will identify all media outlets serving your area and you can select the local publications (up to five at a time) to which you would like to send the letter. A sample letter already is available for you to send, but we encourage you to personalize the letter and share the story of a loved one or a local veteran who is fighting ALS or has been lost to the disease.
Wall of Honor
In addition to the letter-to-the-editor, please visit the Wall of Honor, which can be found on our website. See the faces of our veterans with ALS and read their stories of courage at http://www.alsa.org/advocacy/ veterans/. If you know a veteran with ALS or a veteran who has been lost to ALS, help tell their story by sharing it on the Wall. And don’t forget to tell others about the Wall of Honor and help us spread the word about this disease and its impact on our military heroes.
Thank you to everyone for your efforts to help raise awareness of ALS this Veterans Day!
