The rules are the same as traditional tennis, and players use the same balls. The only difference is players in a wheelchair get two bounces.

Julie Fritz is a tennis coach at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana. She said the event is important for two reasons.

"One, I like to make people aware of wheelchair tennis. The great thing about wheelchair tennis is, you can play with an able-bodied person," Fritz said. "And then also, just to let wheelchair athletes know that there is more than life just sitting in a wheelchair. And there's a lot of sports out there, tennis just being one of them, that they can participate in."

Fritz said close to 20 players of all ages and abilities came out to the event, from as far away as Chicago, Fort Wayne and Cincinnati.
