ADA (American Disability Act) Celebration Art Exhibit - July 16 to 19, 2013 in Chicago

The 23rd ADA Celebration:
Celebrate 23 Years of the Anniversary of the Passage of the
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Law of 1990.
It will be held at the James R. Thompson Center,
100 West Randolph Street, Chicago

Tuesday, July 16, 2013 (All day) to Friday, July 19, 2013 (All day)

Professional, non-professional, and emerging artists and writers, over the age of 10, who have a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, are invited to submit visual and literary artworks for the Exhibition. Artworks may be sold and artists receive 100% of all sales proceeds.

The Art Exhibit Program is one component of the
Illinois Department of Human Service’s
ADA Celebration.

The Art Program consists of all or some of the following: an Art Exhibit, a Meet and Greet the Artists tour, Demonstrations and talks by artists and writers, Hands on art workshops for everyone, and a Panel Program consisting of people with disabilities sharing resources and speaking about employment in the Arts.

At the July Celebration, there will be art workshops, entertainment, a Wheelchair Tournament, Sports Activities, an Employment and Resource Fair, an ADA Help Table, exhibits, and interactive and informational workshops on ADA issues.

The entire event is free and accessible.

Artists and Writers are also invited to send postcards to be in the 3.5 x 5 show, the Mail Art Postcard show, based on the ADA theme: Breaking Down the Barriers.
