Many people ride horses just for fun, but riding can be very beneficial for those with disabilities.
Therapeutic riding helps disabled children or adults with balance, core strength, hand eye coordination and more.
Even though there's many physical benefits, it can provide mental relief as well...
"Children and adults with disabilities are often stressed. We don't often think about the stress level of their lives. It helps their overall mental well being and then they can take that into the schools and into the family and into their personal relationships. That's our goal," says Bright Star Executive Director Dana Ingle. If you'd like more information on therapeutic riding, or to volunteer click here.
