Illinois Lemont High School hosts forum for educational placement for 'students with disabilities' | On April 3, 2012

Lemont, IL — On April 3, Lemont High School District 210 will host a public forum to discuss educational placement for students with disabilities.

The forum will be conducted by a representative from the Illinois State Board of Education and is open to all residents who live within District 210’s attendance boundaries.

ISBE selected District 210 to conduct its focused monitoring, which helps ensure that school districts follow appropriate procedures in making educational placement decisions for students with disabilities.

Educational placement refers to the setting or location where a student with a disability receives their education.

The forum will seek input from District 210 stakeholders concerning placement decisions for students who receive special education services.

Attendees can share their experiences and contribute feedback about how the district collaborates with parents and guardians to determine how and where students with disabilities are educated.

The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. in the high school’s board room, 800 Porter St.
