'Life, Animated' A Story Of A Man with Autism Gets Oscar Nomination

“Life, Animated” was one of five films Oscar nominated in 2017 for Documentary Feature.

The other nominees announced on Jan. 24, 2017 for best documentary were "Fire at Sea," "I Am Not Your Negro," "13th" and "O.J.: Made in America."

SYNOPSIS
Shortly after he turned three, Owen Suskind, the son of journalist Ron Suskind and his wife Cornelia, stopped speaking. Owen was diagnosed with autism, but as the years passed, his family discovered that he had memorized the dialogue of every Disney animated film. As he has grown to adulthood, Owen has gained vital life skills through his connection to animated movies.

The 89th Oscars will be televised live at 7 p.m. Feb. 26 on ABC from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
