A new bill in Illinois could help people with physical disabilities.
It calls for state-funded public park projects to include funding for accessible equipment for physically disabled people.
This includes swings, platforms, and ramps.
Health care officials say these features can be found in a limited number of Illinois parks.
Heritage Health Activity Director Lisa Toller says, "If we didn't have places like this these, residents couldn't come out and I wouldn't be able to take them to the edge line of the lake and know that they're safe and not gonna roll in. At least here, using this is a priority, it gives me a safe way to let them experience fishing like they used to."
The bill passed both houses unanimously and is now waiting for the governor's signature.
