U.S. Access Board to Hold Hearing in Salt Lake City on ICT Proposed Rule (April 29)

The U.S. Access Board will hold a public hearing in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 29 from 4:00 to 5:00 on its proposed rule updating accessibility requirements for information and communication technology (ICT) covered by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and Section 255 of the Communication Act. The event will provide an opportunity for members of the public to comment on the Board's proposal which was released on February 18. Witnesses can only testify in person. 

The hearing is part of a Board town hall meeting and will take place at the Division of Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 250 North 1950 West #B in Salt Lake City. Those who wish to testify are encouraged to sign-up in advance by contacting Kathy Johnson at johnson@access-board.gov(202) 272–0041 (voice), or (202) 272–0065 (TTY). Registration, however, is not required.

This hearing follows two others that the Board held in San Diego on March 5 and in Washington, D.C. on March 11. Written comments on the proposed rule will be accepted until May 28. For further information, visit the Board's website.
