Lauren Gross, born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy college dream comes true thanks to Chicago area and social media

wonderful story reported by WGN9 News | report BY  | Dec. 23, 2014

Spinal Muscular Atrophy makes every day a battle for 19-year-old Lauren Gross.
Lauren and her father David shared their inspirational story with us – and her dream to raise enough money for a special van that could take her to college someday.
After our Mr. Brightside segment aired, hundreds of you flooded her GoFundMe page.  In just 48-hours she had blown past her goal.
As of today, she’s raised more than $60,000.
That outpouring of generosity led to this moment at MobilityWorks in Plainfield – it was time to take home her new van.
But the van was only part of the dream – the other was the place it will take her. Lauren has now officially been accepted into Olivet Nazarene University.
Lauren and her father have set up a Facebook page for people to reach out to them.
Now that they are mobile, they are ready to travel the area and share their story with the world.
You can follow them on their journey or schedule them for an appearance with your organization at: Facebook.com/LimitlessLauren
