as posted by The ADA Legacy Project ...

Anniversary Celebration!

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) will turn twenty-five on July 26, 2015. And a big anniversary deserves a BIG celebration! That's why we're partnering with individuals and organizations around the country to prepare for 2015. Check back often to get updates and learn how you can get involved. How will YOU celebrate?

The ADA Legacy Tour

This is the official page of The ADA Legacy Tour. The Tour is a traveling exhibit designed to raise awareness and build excitement about ADA25 - the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Check here often for the latest schedule.
The ADA Bus
With the help and input of our many partners we have begun to finalize the route for The ADA Legacy Tour! The Tour will kick off this month in Houston, Texas. As many of you know, Houston is home to former President George H. Bush, who signed the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) into law in 1990. The Tour will be on display at the Abilities Expo from July 25 - 27, 2014.
From there The ADA Legacy Tour will spend the next year traveling across the country raising awareness and building excitement towards ADA25 - the 25th anniversary of the ADA in 2015! The Tour will feature:
  • The ADA Bus, courtesy of Disability Rights Center;
  • the Justin Dart Hero Puppet, courtesy of Matrix Theatre (in limited locations);
  • a four-panel display on the history of self-advocacy, courtesy of the Museum of disABILITY History;
  • displays on the preservation of disability history; celebrations of disability history milestones; and efforts to educate future generations of disability advocates, courtesy of The ADA Legacy Project;
  • video interviews of up-and-coming disability advocates, courtesy of It's Our Story;
  • an information table with handouts on The ADA Legacy Project and the ADA, plus information from our partners and sponsors; and
  • a workshop on the ADA, courtesy of the ADA National Network.
Many of the Tour stops will be housed at the Abilities Expo, one of our major Tour partners.
