Tell your U.S. Senators: Support Disability Rights Throughout the World - time to approve the CRPD

as shared by Easter Seals , & supported by Ability Chicago...

We are coming down to the wire! It now appears that this month is the make or break time for the U.S. Senate to take up the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

Our champions in the Senate are working hard to garner enough votes to approve the CRPD. Key decisions are being made this week about whether or not to go ahead with votes on the treaty. We need to convince five more Senators to approve the CRPD before it will be brought for a vote.

This is where you come in. Senators need to hear from their constituents that we need to maintain America’s leadership in the world on disability rights and we need to participate in the CRPD so the good progress we have made here under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) can spread to other countries. Help us secure all the votes to ratify this important treaty this year!
We are SO close.

Sincerely,

Katy Beh Neas
