Help the U.S Congress Vote "YES" on the Bipartisan Job Training Bill! - revises employment services for People with Disabilities

as shared by ...

Congress is one step away from finalizing legislation to help address the employment struggles faced by individuals with disabilities and others. Your voice is needed to help urge the U.S. House of Representatives to quickly vote "yes" on H.R. 803, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

Congress is on the verge of updating our nation’s workforce development and job training system for the first time since 1998. On June 25, the U.S. Senate overwhelmingly approved 95-3 the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (H.R. 803). The bill revises the vocational rehabilitation program and other employment services and supports for jobseekers with disabilities. Easter Sealsstrongly supports the legislation, which provides early-access to employment services to transition-aged youth with disabilities, sets high expectations, focuses on improving employment outcomes and promotes long-term employment success through customized employment, supported employment, assistive technology and other employment strategies.

The legislation has support from key U.S. House leaders from BOTH political parties and the President. If the bill secures at least 218 votes in the U.S. House, it’s off to the President for his signature into law!

We need your voice to show the U.S. House there is broad support to quickly act on and approve the bill!
Thank you,

Katy Beh Neas
Senior Vice President - Government Relations
