U.S. Access Board Meeting and 3 Public Hearings (July 10, 2013)

The U.S. Access Board will hold several public events at its next meeting on July 10. These include a public hearing onguidelines it recently proposed for passenger vessels (9:30 to noon) and presentations from advisory panels the Board formed on medical diagnostic equipment (MDE) and prescription drug container labels (1:30 to 3:30). The MDE Accessibility Standards Advisory Committee will submit recommendations on how MDE accessibilitystandards proposed by the Board should be finalized. The Working Group on Accessible Prescription Drug Container Labels will present to the Board recommended best practices for making information on prescription drug container labels accessible to people who are visually impaired or who are elderly.

These events, which are open to the public, will be held at the Board’s conference center. For the comfort of all participants and to promote a fragrance-free environment, attendees are requested not to use perfume, cologne, or other fragrances. Call in and communication access real-time translation (CART) options are available to those who wish to attend remotely.
