Mayor Copeland Will Read to East Chicago Children and Present a Disability Awareness Proclamation.


Mayor Anthony Copeland will make an official proclamation to proclaim March as Disability Awareness Month in East Chicago, Indiana and to increase children’s awareness, understanding and acceptance of physical and mental disabilities. As part of this awareness Mayor Copeland will have a Children’s Story Hour to promote disability awareness.

Local grade school children are invited to attend the East Chicago Public Library’s special story hour focusing on people with disabilities and their contributions to society on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at 11 a.m. at 2401 E. Columbus Drive in East Chicago, IN 46312
