Fire Safety Education Seminar for People Who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing - March 27, 2012 - Chicago Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD).

Presentation by the Chicago Fire Department on Fire Safety for People who are deaf and hard of hearing. Emergency Preparedness: The importance of being signed up for the City of Chicago's Emergency Voluntary Registry and Notify Chicago. Sign language interpreters will be provided. What We Do
Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services


The Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD) offers a fully array of services for people who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing including:

The Substance Abuse/AIDS Prevention Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (also known as SAAPPD)

Provides free Amplified Phones, Teletypewriters (TTY) and CapTels to qualified individuals

Provides information and resources for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community

Advises City departments, sister agencies and community organizations on various forms of communication access for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community

Represents MOPD on various government and community-based committees regarding Deaf and Hard of Hearing policies and programs
