The ADA in the Healthcare Setting - Free Webinar - Jan 18, 2011

2011-2012 LEGAL ISSUES WEBINAR SERIES

Equip for Equality, in conjunction with the Great Lakes ADA Center, is continuing in 2012 to provide free legal webinars on different ADA issues. The next webinar will be on the ADA in the healthcare setting. The webinar will include a discussion of cases involving healthcare workers with disabilities and the employment discrimination issues they face, as well as people with disabilities who encounter discrimination when interfacing with a healthcare provider.

The webinar will take place on Wednesday January 18th from 1-2:30 CDT. Alan Goldstein and I will be the speakers for this webinar. A powerpoint presentation will be provided to participants. If you're interested in participating, go to www.ada-audio.org and click on the link for the ADA Legal Webinar Series to register. Registration will close at noon CDT on Tuesday January 17th. 1.5 hours of CLE credit will be available for Illinois attorneys who participate.

Over the years, the healthcare setting has been the source of significant ADA litigation and has raised some unique issues. The Department of Justice is also primed to issue new regulations on equipment in healthcare settings. This session will review the range of litigation brought against healthcare providers including employment discrimination cases brought by healthcare workers, as well as ADA litigation brought by patients involving issues such as communication access.
