The Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board (U.S. Access Board) is a small, independent federal agency devoted to accessibility for people with disabilities.  We develop accessibility criteria for the built environment, transit vehicles, telecommunications equipment, medical diagnostic equipment, and information and communication technology. We also provide technical assistance and training on these requirements and enforce the Architectural Barriers Act through investigation of complaints concerning the accessibility of federally funded facilities.  The Access Board employs about 30 career civil servants and is governed by a 25-member Board comprised of cabinet level representatives from federal departments and presidentially-appointed public members.  Please visit http://www.access-board.gov to learn more about
