A poolside accident may have paralyzed Rachelle Friedman at her bachelorette party last year, but that didn't keep her from reveling in her dream wedding on Friday.

Seated across from her college sweetheart at The Fearrington House in Pittsboro, N.C., the 25-year-old bride exchanged vows with the man who has stood by her side since a freak accident put her in a wheelchair, the Today Show reports.

Just a month before she was slated to marry Chris Chapman, 28, a friend playfully shoved Friedman into a pool in Virginia Beach, Va., leaving her paralyzed from the waist down.

Though the couple had to delay the wedding, they never doubted that this day would come.

"It kind of proves what I've known all along," Chapman shared on the Today Show Monday. "She's always been positive and had a lot of energy and charisma since the moment I met her."

Friedman slipped on her original gown and her father pushed her down the aisle at a ceremony that was paid for by 1-800-Registry.

"I love you so much and you are my best friend," Friedman told her husband in front a roomful of friends and family at the couple's reception.

An accident -- please -- you have to be an idiot or pretty drunk to know that you can break somebody's neck by "playfully" pushing them into a pool when they least expect it. I understand it was one of her bridesmaids and best friend! I also understand that she is still BFFS with this moron. That woman should have been sued and incarcerated for endangering someone's life.
