Take Action Against State Budget Cuts : Released: 5/18/2011
Leaders in The Arc:

This morning the LIFE Coalition holds a press conference for legislators and the media in the Capitol. Presenters will be Charlotte Cronin, Misty White-King, Rep Golar (invited) and Rep Leitch (invited). The topic is our continued battle on the cuts to disability services and the need to close four state institutions.

After the press conference, we will be meeting with legislators and staff.

That is what we are doing; now here is what you can do!

The State of Illinois is looking at $76.3 million is cuts to community based disability programs. Several service will be eliminated and all other programs will be cut 6-10%. It is critical that you call Governor Quinn and your State Senator and Representative and let them know that cuts to community based disability programs is not an option.
